DENVER -- A Colorado State Patrol officer lost his job for allegedly participating in lewd behavior.
Adams County deputies say Mark Bills, 38, was arrested after he was caught allegedly engaging in a sexual act with another man in Lafayette Park on Oct 7.
The four-year State Patrol veteran was fired Friday by the State Patrol for allegedly violating codes of conduct.
An Adams County deputy said that as he was patrolling the bike trails at the park when he spotted two men go down an embankment and into the bushes. When one of the men spotted the deputy, he motioned for the deputy to join them, the Adams County Sheriff's Office said.
As the deputy walked down to where the two men were, he saw one man performing oral sex on another man. Bills and Wenceslao Bravo, 36, were arrested and released on a misdemeanor summons alleging public indecency and nuisance.
Both have a court date of Nov. 17 at 8:30 a.m. at the Adams County Justice Center in Brighton.
Deputies have been patrolling the trails for the past four years because of complaints from adults and children who say they often witness such acts when they use the bike path. The patrol of the area has increased recently in light of recent reports of kidnapping and sexual assault occurring on the bike trails.
