A mediated
agreement will likely involve a fraction of the cost of an
adversarial litigation in the courts.
Human Relations /
Injuries: Courtroom outcomes are always unpredictable. Mediation
is a way for a family, an employer, a business, or a neighbor to
resolve a dispute or potential lawsuit, in a timely fashion.
Mediation offers flexibility, control and privacy to the disputants.
YOU are an active participant in deciding what will be a fair
outcome.
Marital mediation: In an adversarial system
such as divorce, you may be involved in ongoing court hearings,
interrogatories, depositions, discovery petitions, ad nauseum. If
custody of children becomes an issue, you can add $10,000 or more to
the cost, and add months or years to the process.
With a
mediated focus on cooperation, not competition, your dispute
resolution cost is reduced by as much as 75%; you can save thousands
of dollars, and the pain of un-needed conflict. And, on average, a
mediated resolution - whether it be reconciliation or divorce - is
resolved within a matter of weeks.
Parties to mediation always have the option of leaving
the mediation and pursuing court remedies. Parties to mediation may
stipulate to Federal Rule of Evidence 408, thereby making those
communications not admissable at trial.
*Actual fees will
vary, depending on the case.
