Razor eater Mcbanned
Must stay out of McDonald's
By TRACY MCLAUGHLIN, SPECIAL TO THE TORONTO SUN

BARRIE -- A woman who put crushed razor blades into a burger and deliberately swallowed them was ordered by a judge to stay out of McDonald's restaurants yesterday.

Michelle King, a 34-year-old mother of three, pleaded guilty to public mischief and was given a conditional discharge -- which means she gets off with no criminal record -- provided she complies with the conditions of a 12-month probation. King must stay out of McDonald's outlets, do 150 hours of community service and seek help for emotional problems. She also has to pay restitution of $4,745 -- the equivalent of what it cost to investigate her complaint.

Last June she put the blades in her cheeseburger, ate it, then went to a hospital.

In court King admitted that she cooked up the scheme but her lawyer, David Wilcox, insisted it was not for profit, but rather because she had emotional problems.
